Job Description
You will be teaching five hours of conversational English classes and one Bible class a day. The institute provides all the teaching materials for the classes. Class procedures and method are taught during the new teachers' orientation. SDA Language Institute has a year program, which is divided into six 2-month terms. Each term begins during odd months, and we conduct 36 class days.
Mission
Nowadays, evangelizing youth in Korea is very difficult, for they are supposed to learn a lot of things to get a good job. To spread the Gospel to Korean youth and intellectual people, God opened such a great mission opportunity through our institute.One of the many powerful gospel out reach can be seen through the Bible Camp, which year we baptized more than 1200 precious souls a year to His kingdom.
Benefits
To name a few: a monthly stipend (approx $1500 plus $100 meal allowances the total of $1600), earn $300 extra per month if teaches 1 more class, $600 extra if teaches 2 more classes, free round trip plane tickets (for 1-year contracts), a furnished apartment with all utility expenses paid, insurance (medical, dental, accidents), one month bonus pay for each full year of service.
Requirements
A volunteer missionary teacher has to have the following qualifications in order to satisfy the requirements set by the Korean government and of the SDA church organization.
- A baptized Seventh-day Adventist
- At least 20 years old, including retirees
- A bachelor's degree (any degree)
- Native English speaker
- A Citizen of
Australia,
Canada,
England,
New Zealand,
South Africa, or
United States.
